So, as Ms.S has already explained in detail, we got to meet Mrs. Alpha, her husband and her puppy.
We both fell in love with the pup at first sight! He was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!
No way were we leaving without him, having formed an instant bond, not to mention that he was a bargain (at least at this point in his life!)
It was a no-brainer for us to happily adopt him as our new family member.
After being bombarded with tons of instructions and tips on how to care for this baby Doby (this was a bit overwhelming so I left those details for Ms.S to deal with), we loaded the car with his gear including a big crate and a blue “fluff” (small piece of washable carpet), and embarked on our journey home.
I remember strongly that he whimpered on my lap and farted badly all the way back home; I worried that he might accidentally pee on me (or worse, deposit some nuggets on my lap) while traveling on the highway at 110km/h. I was quite anxious, but looking back I am sure he felt worse… he was probably wondering what on earth was going on around him.
Our triumphant return home with this infant Dobermann Pinscher marked the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.
Having already discussed what to call him with Ms.S, we named him “HUGO”, only to find out later that the name would not suit him at all…
